Description

Step away from everyone and everything. Just the two of you in a unique rustic retreat amongst the vines where peace and quiet are yours and yours alone. Treat yourselves. Rediscover romance at the heart of nature.

Rustic retreat

The original lookers - Kent shepherds watching their flocks - certainly knew how to choose a spot. Set in the heart of luscious countryside, The Lookers Legacy offers a haven of absolute tranquillity set in corn fields and vineyards with the dreamy Romney Marsh on the horizon. Peace and quiet are a given here and at this rustic retreat you’ll make a long overdue return to nature and serenity.

Take the location for a start – it really is just the two of you and Mother Nature. At your retreat, you’ll discover a sanctuary for two in a cosy and traditional yet modern home, perfect for utter relaxation.

The living quarters offer stunning country views from the picture window doors opening up an entire corner of the house to nature. Sit back in elegant simplicity in a world of muted greys and creams with splashes of buttercup. Settle down by the warmth of the wood burning stove under cosy sheepskin throws inside or beat the chill outside by the fire pit as you admire the purest night sky you’ve seen for a long, long time.

Magnificent country views by day and night continue in the bedroom where a giant picture window (taking up almost the entire wall) gives just you two perhaps the best vistas you’ve ever woken up to. The elegance continues here too in the stylish furnishings, perfectly complemented by the original brick features and traditional barn doors.

And should you tire of your views, discover many others – just as pretty – when you set out on one of the nearby walks with a footpath on your doorstep. Venture slightly further afield and the glorious Camber Sands are on your doorstep with the historic town of Rye adding just a smidge of hustle and bustle.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

This rustic retreat sleeps 2 in 1 spacious bedroom with king size bed, reading lights and picture window looking out onto the countryside. An en suite bathroom with large walk-in shower and feature brick walls completes the accommodation.

Reviews

If you're looking for some peace and quiet then this is the place to come. Just big enough for two people and a medium sized dog. Really enjoyed my stay here, the pub is walkable but take a torch if you're planning on going there in the dark

Mr A,

Lovely converted shepherds hut in a great location. Great walks and a nice pub within walking distance.

Mr C,

Great to stay at The Lookers Legacy, a much needed break in an idyllic location. Superb conversion & snug extension with everything we could need. Kent has beautiful scenery and we enjoyed using it as a base to explore the local area and would unreservedly recommend it and Winchelsea and its nearby beach as well worth a visit. Thanks also for the milk and welcome box of treats and plentiful supply of logs.

Mr N,

Beautiful property for time cut off from the rest of the world. Lovely modern features and lovely and warm (even in the stormy weather and we had). Not an enclosed garden but lots of space for the dog to run around. Good location, near to Rye which we really loved visiting (standard inn and Marino’s fish and chips are both a must). Would recommend to others

Mrs C,

Really enjoyed staying at the Lookers Legacy. A fab conversion with lots of attention to detail and in a beautiful and secluded spot.

Mr O,

Beautifuly located get away, lovely and quite. Clean property with lots of great amenities. Helpful hosts.

Miss S,

Front door lock and key situation has potential for problems if you happen to close front door and leave key inside. 'Topping up' hot tub after use needs highlighting on the hot tub not at the hose tap. Also if you use hot tub say at 22:00 then you 'top it up' it was taking well over 1hr to heat/cycle and with the bed right next to hot tub was a wee bit noisy. Lesson learned was don't use hot tub after 20:30 but when on holiday it is nice to sit in hot tub and look up at the stars when one desires.
