Description
Retreat from the vibrant High Street in this surprising and stylish nook. Buy the freshest fish on the pretty shingle beach. Fire up the barbecue and cross the bridge to the sun deck to see out the evening together.
Bolthole luxury
Upbeat relaxation in this upside down house that’s a cultural retreat for two. The hardest decision will be knowing which relaxation spot to chose. Will it be on the main seating area? Perhaps you’ll cross the little bridge into the garden? From there you might chance upon the sun deck itself with its glorious views across Aldeburgh and the sea?
Inside, you’ll notice the neutral palette of furnishings and decor, accented with bright splashes of colour. The seaside feel is hinted at throughout this design-led holiday home. You’ll feel perfectly at home in the well equipped kitchen and cosy living area. It’s hard to beat the light, airy feel breezing through this petite and perfectly balanced home.
Stoke up the barbecue to grill those fish you’ve bought from the fishermen selling them direct from their beach huts on the shingle beach. Their colourful boats, their produce, and their way of life are a photographer’s dream.
Aldeburgh, in the heart of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is stunning. Music, film, food, this spectacular seaside town has it all by the bucket load. The vibrant High Street boasts an eclectic mix of independent shops and eateries and the town itself is famous for its food festival in September and documentary film festival in November. The river Alde, popular with sailors, winds its way to Orford downstream and upstream to Snape Maltings, home of the internationally renowned Aldeburgh Music Festival and its famous founder Benjamin Britten. Thorpeness, just a couple of miles north along the beach, has its own special seaside character and some filmings location connections too.
