You’re curled up deep on the Chesterfield, warming your toes by the woodstove, watching the last light on those glorious country views. Just another day with the two of you at your very own retreat.

Cottage charm

As you draw up outside the very smart stone cottage, you already know you’ve made the right choice. Far-reaching views of the rolling green countryside have accompanied you on the way and yes, that is the scent of salt on the wind because Scarborough is just over yonder. Bags of fresh air, a ton of peace and quiet, and just you two and your Yorkshire cottage. You did indeed choose well. And you’re just about to discover how well. Come on in...

Step inside the barn door (did you notice your very own post box?) and you’re welcomed into a world of space. Quick check – is this really just for two? It is and all of it. The ceiling rises high flanked by traditional beams, the living room stretches far and wide. All this spaciousness isn’t even dwarfed by two (yes, two) Chesterfield sofas whose deep cushions are almost impossible to resist. Once you get the wood stove crackling nicely, you know exactly how you’ll be spending each and every evening. Obviously, you can share one of the sofas for extra warmth if needed.

There’s also room aplenty in the stylish kitchen. The two of you have more than enough appliances and cooking will be anything but a chore amongst the delicate eggshell blue and white with those snappy red accessories. Meanwhile, have you seen the views? Verdant Yorkshire hills, green woodlands and a drifting sky as far as you can see. And what about the peace and quiet? Absolute and all yours.

The bedroom and bathroom come very spaciously too. The giant soaker tub will be contending with the Chesterfields for a relaxation space and the bed easily fits a king and queen. And those same lovely views and of course, the same utter tranquillity. Maybe you two have just found paradise on earth.

WOW what can we say? We knew from the moment we booked that we were in for a treat.... but when we arrived we were blown away.What an outstanding beautiful cottage. It oozes luxury and is so cosy and comfortable . The welcome package was very much appreciated, fresh bread,farm eggs, milk, butter,jams and of course the red and the white wine. What a perfect start to an amazing weekend!! We loved how close the cottage was to popular places which we really enjoyed each day... But we mostly enjoyed our evenings: Romantic meals in front of a log burner with a great music sound system! Best English holiday we have ever had , Thank you!! Xxx

What an AMAZING cottage. Been "cottaging" since the 90's and this is the best by far!! Beautiful inside and out. Breathtaking part of the countryside but near enough to the coast + amenities to bring out your inner child. We loved Whitby, Filey, Scarborough, Pickering and Bridlington. Go to the Scarborough Fair Collection. Talk about nostalgia. Would love to come back in the summer and make more of the garden + BBQ. PS Bed is so comfortable, + the shower ........ bliss x PS Just sitting listening to the birds! :)
