Description
Breakfast with the sunshine as it rises. Lunch as it moves over the sea beyond. Take tea with its light on the hills and woodlands – can you see the beams catch the waves? And then settle down for an evening of glorious sunsets and the mantle of evening stars.
Luscious landscapes
Set atop a hill of its very own, this modern country house looks far south over the rolling Dorset hills and Golden Cap sparkling in the distance. You’ll all be grabbing your spot on the slate-paved terrace looking out over the gardens to the vistas beyond. Make that all day since the views are truly mesmerizing as they change with the moving sunlight. And in complete peace and quiet too as this holiday retreat enjoys a very private location. Step down into the garden where fine trees and vibrant rhododendrons will momentarily distract your eye from the views.
Should it be just a little chilly for comfort, you can retreat inside to spacious and colourful living. Splashes of colour greet you at every turn and in each of the well appointed rooms from the azure sofas to cobalt kitchen equipped to the highest of standards. But don’t worry, even indoors you’ll never be far from those vistas, visible from almost every room and brought right inside through the giant French doors.
If you do manage to tear yourself away from the views, the charming village of Morcombelake awaits you just down the road while the bustling market town of Bridport is a quick car drive away. Dorset’s World Heritage Jurassic coast lies nearby and for more active, a long list of walking, horse riding and cycling trails sit right on the doorstep. Best of all? Many of the trails share those same glorious views of some of England’s prettiest hills and of course, the sea twinkling on the horizon.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
The house easily accommodates eight in its four very spacious bedrooms, each of which comes with its own colourful cheer. Two face south and enjoy those famous views right out to Lyme Bay. There are also two ensuites and a family bathroom.
