Description
In the heart of the Weald of Kent, Iden Green Farm Stables is a haven of tranquility waiting to lift the world from your shoulders. This superb stable conversion promises halcyon days in bucolic countryside.
Peace and serenity
Step inside to feel the warmth and history of the place that in the winter months is enhanced by the luxury of underfloor heating and a wood burning stove. Time out in the countryside, appreciating its hush and its lushness is particularly appealing from the garden where the views across the Weald abound. Afternoon tea around the handcrafted garden furniture could become a habit.
Inside, the former life and the age of the building are apparent in the beautifully exposed beamwork and the lower than usual doorways on the first floor. The farmhouse style kitchen has a beautifully handcrafted worktop. Extending into the dining area, the terracotta tile floor is cool in the heat of summer and heated for you in chillier months. Breakfast or supper around the large farmhouse dining table can flow out through the double doors on the terrace where children can play safely in the garden.
Beyond the house, the High Weald AONB is yours to explore. Bring your National Trust membership cards to discover Sissinghurst Castle and Scotney Castle, both of which are just a short drive from the Stables. History buffs will love a day trip to Hastings and to Rye where cobbled streets and the legacy of battles long ago fought contribute to pretty coastal towns to occupy visitors new and returning. To appease those in need of sea air and sandcastles the long-stretching golden sands of Camber are a beautiful sight over the dunes after a pretty meander via the marshland.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
Three double bedrooms call you to sleep of an evening in the eaves of this beautiful building. The Red Room and Blue Room are both spacious rooms with views in two directions. The ornate metalwork bed of the Green Room draws you into this cosy double for a heavenly night’s sleep with little more than the dawn chorus to rouse you.
