FAQs

What time should I arrive at and leave my holiday cottage?

Arrival and departure times may vary between properties, but can be found on the property detail pages on our website. After you place a booking, they will also be confirmed in your booking details.

Will I need to bring my own bed linen and towels?

All our properties provide duvets or blankets, pillows and tea towels. Some also provide duvet covers, sheets, pillowcases and towels at no extra cost, some will make a small charge for these items and others do not provide them. See the property description for details, or contact us if you need further information. You will need to bring your own beach or swimming towels.

What about cot bedding?

We don’t supply any linen or blankets for cots so you will need to bring your own

Are electricity and heating costs included in the holiday price?

Many properties have an all-inclusive price whilst others make an additional charge for electricity and other fuels, such as logs for an open fire. In some cases the additional charge will be via a coin/card meter or by metered supply. See the property description for details.

Can I bring my dog – or any other pet – with me?

Many of our holiday properties will welcome one small dog and some are happy to accept larger breeds and/or more than one dog. There is often a small additional charge for your dog(s). See the property description for details. If you’d like to bring any other kind of pet, just get in touch with us and we’ll check whether the property owner is happy for you to do this.

Please remember that pets should not be left unattended in properties and that they must remain downstairs and off furniture at all times.  You, as pet owner, will be responsible for removing any evidence left by your pet and reimbursing the owner for any damage caused. Please note that if a property is shown to have an ‘enclosed’ garden, this does not necessarily mean that it is secure for your pet as it may be enclosed by hedging or open style fencing.

What are your older properties like?

Older cottages often have a number of features which give them real character and charm, but which also give rise to practical issues which you should be aware of. Many of our older cottages have low ceilings, doorways and beams. They often have steep and narrow stairs and because of low or sloping ceilings, may have limited clothes hanging facilities. Many were built before the introduction of damp proof courses and cavity wall insulation. Thatched roofs and beams can attract spiders, and cobwebs reappear very quickly after being removed.

These points are particularly important to note if your party has any elderly or very young members.  However, we feel that these features add character and charm to a cottage and we would not hesitate to recommend them.

Are any of your properties suitable for people with limited mobility?

We know that some visitors have special requirements in terms of access to a property or the facilities needed within it and therefore have an ‘access statement’ for most properties. We can use this information and our team's knowledge of the properties to help you choose the right place for your needs – just contact us for advice.

Will I be able to park at my holiday home?

Many of our holiday homes have parking for at least one car at the property. However in some places, such as the older seaside towns and villages, parking may be on the street or in a public car park. If you will need a parking permit or scratch-card we will either provide this for you, or give you full details of how to obtain one.

Do I need to clean my holiday home before I leave?

We clean and service all our properties between bookings but, as the cleaner's time is often limited during busy periods, we ask you to leave the property as clean and tidy as you found it.

Can I book a short break with you?

Yes, many of our properties offer short breaks of 2-6 nights throughout the year, although seasonal restrictions will sometimes affect how far in advance you can actually book a short break. Generally, you can book a short break in low season at any time, but if you’re looking for just a few days away in peak season you may not be able to book this until a couple of weeks beforehand. Contact us if you need any help with finding and booking a short break.
