Description
Walk into the pages of an interior design magazine at this lovingly restored barn dating from the 15th century. Every room is the picture of style and grace, where natural materials have been sensitively paired with touches of luxury.
Be inspired
Stand in the centre of Hall Farm Barn and look up at the vaulted ceiling above you. It’s hard to believe this building, so effortlessly luxurious, was once used for nothing more than storage for the farm. Today, its exposed brick walls, timber beams and countryside views are there to be enjoyed and appreciated rather than put to work.
Wander the pretty gardens, past raised beds planted with nasturtiums and lavender for year-round colour and pick seasonal fruit and vegetables for dinner. Back indoors, you’ll find yourself inspired to try new flavours and put new spins on old recipes thanks to the carefully considered kitchen – the interior designers went to great lengths to provide a practical space free of clutter. There are two gigantic dining tables with plenty of space for everyone to spread out, meaning you can breakfast at one and serve dinner at the other.
One of the changes to the barn you’ll appreciate most is the addition of large windows to drench the space in natural light. These tower above you as you gather on the sofas, and the light even makes its way to the bedrooms on the upper level, letting in that remarkable dawn sun without sacrificing privacy.
Entertainment comes in the form of boules, croquet and table tennis. In the evenings, take a stroll out to the village pub and return full of merriment to strike up songs around the grand piano.
Working farm barns help feed the community. This stunning holiday home will feed your very soul.
