Description

Ultra spacious, high-end accommodation for two (plus two dogs) in the heart of Cornish countryside just a short drive from Padstow. The absolute peace and quiet make this the perfect rural retreat for a couple.

Sit back, relax and breathe in the fresh country air with the hint of sea salt as you two make the most of the utter tranquillity. Space and natural light galore and best of all, it’s just yours.

Tranquil space

There might be just the two of you but since when have you had so much glorious space and all to yourselves? The open plan living space at Tresallyn Cottage couldn’t be roomier. All the ceilings rise loftily above you and the rooms stretch wide across. Wooden beams and lintels above all the windows add to the feeling of size and a sense of space. The palette of delicate whites and creams that decorate your rural retreat enhance this further. Time to settle in...

Who’d guess that all this lovely space was once a tack room and stable? The beautifully restored cottage comes in traditional Cornish stone. Lots of windows let in floods of the unique local light and views lie long across the fields outside. Yours is the lovely patio complete with dining furniture plus two inviting loungers, perfect for soaking up some warm Cornish rays as you two relax.

Inside, china blue takes centre stage in the spacious living area where a wood stove takes the edge off cooler evenings and there’s direct access through French doors to your patio. The dining table sits in its own serene space that then flows seamlessly into the kitchen, also more than generously-sized. Here, white cabinetry gets just the right contrast from the wooden countertops. Plenty of appliances make for the quickest of treats and the easiest washing up!

Outside is the working farm, home to full riding stables – perfect if you want your horse to come too. The busy village of St Merryn lies on the doorstep and if you venture further afield, some of North Cornwall’s best sandy beaches await plus the delights of Padstow with its harbour and seriously fine dining scene.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

The bedroom is very spacious and has a king-size bed. There’s also one large bathroom with bath/shower plus a handy cloakroom.

Reviews

Beautiful cottage and surrounding area. Very peaceful location but well placed for exploring Cornish towns nearby.

Ms F,

Another lovely stay in wonderful Tresallyn. Thanks to Alison and Andrew again. We always enjoy our time here

Mr B,

What a lovely cottage seemingly in the middle of nowhere but really close to all amenities including pubs, supermarket and of course the bustling harbour town of Padstow. We loved this place and hope to come back soon but hopefully it’ll be a little warmer but if you choose a March holiday expect cooler weather. Alison and Andrew have a little gem here.

Mr F,

Beautiful cottage. We were very comfortable staying there with our 2 dogs. A short drive to Padstow and supermarket. Travisker garden centre, a short drive away, is a lovely place to visit. Great cafe, brilliant for full English breakfast on departure day

Mrs S,

Superb cottage, we loved everything about it and wouldn't hesitate to book again and recommend to others.

Mrs H,

Super Cottage very spacious and a lovely rural location

Mr B,

Lovely place in a rural location. Ideal for couples who appreciate the area whilst not being in the full buzz of Cornwall, which can at times be congested and busy. Ideal to walk to the local pub/restaurant from the cottage.

Mrs W,

Beautifully appointed extremely comfortable cottage which exceeded our expectations and is very spacious for two. Set in a peaceful and picturesque setting the garden and sunny patio area is great for alfresco dining with wonderful views of the countryside. It's a great base to go out exploring Cornwall by car or perfect for walkers using the coastal paths to explore the many beautiful beaches and bays. Padstow is only a few miles down the road and St Merryn has a convenience store, petrol station, pubs, a takeaway and fish and chip shop. Tresallyn cottage is a hidden gem and you definitely wont be disappointed.

Mrs K,

Warm and comfortable cottage which withstood the worst weather Cornwall threw at us - although due to the exceptionally heavy rain there was a small river running down the drive at one point, and some local roads were flooded.

Mr B,

A lovely well equipped cottage in a beautiful location. We have stayed here 6 times now and will be doing so again in June
