Description

This spacious and luxurious coastal cottage invites families or groups of friends for a memorable Cornish getaway in charming Porthleven. Set on the West coast of the Lizard Peninsula, Porthleven is centred around its harbour, boasting an array of cafes, restaurants and galleries, and exudes a relaxed vibe. The beach is reached from the town and provides a stretch of sand separated by several rocky outcrops. Situated part way along a huge sweeping bay, it faces the Atlantic Ocean and is often on the receiving end of some mighty winter storms! A fabulous destination for a winter break; marvel at the awe-inspiring waves pounding the harbour walls from the safety of the local pub. Travel North-West and you’ll reach Marazion, home of St Michael’s Mount. You won’t tire of the walks and stunning scenery, and for a day out try the Seal Sanctuary at Gweek (8 miles), Flambards (3.5 miles) or Trebah Gardens (15. miles).

One of a trio of cottages, this remarkable dwelling extends a warm invitation with its welcoming ambiance and thoughtful design elements. Just a few steps from the double parking area, the front door opens into a grand, open-plan living space, evoking an instant feeling of ease and relaxation. The stunning kitchen, situated to one side, showcases sleek units and quartz worktops, blending practicality with elegance. Bathed in natural light streaming through skylights and expansive windows, the living space offers panoramic sea views right across the bay. Gather around the generously sized dining table, perfect for eight, to linger over sociable meals, then relax on the snug sofas and armchairs, strategically positioned to enjoy the vistas. Enjoy movie nights by the Smart TV, basking in the warmth of the wood burner, creating an ideal setting for cosy winter evenings in. Additionally, on this level, a utility/cloakroom provides added convenience. Descend the elegant wooden staircase to the bedroom area. Three spacious king-size rooms and a twin room with zip-and-link beds await, the master boasting its own luxurious en-suite shower room. Admire breathtaking sea views from three bedrooms, offering a serene backdrop to your seaside retreat. Two of the rooms have direct terrace access, inviting you to soak up the sun and savour the ocean breeze. A family bathroom, designed with elegance and functionality, features dual basins, a separate bath and a shower equipped with a rainfall head.

The expansive terrace is accessible either directly from two of the bedrooms or via an external set of steps situated adjacent to the house. Here, you can unwind and rejuvenate on the south-facing terrace, immersing yourself in the breathtaking, panoramic views of the surroundings whilst enjoying a family BBQ at the end of a busy day out.

Reviews

We had a wonderful 7 day visit. The house is of a very high standard and very comfortable. The views are stunning. Parking and charging facilities are top. Thank you for a great time. we will be back....

Mr H,

A great cottage to stay in - and we have stayed in many over the years in Porthleven. We have watched them being built over the past few years and were excited to stay in one of the three! It did not disappoint. Great views, lovely places to walk from and a really comfortable, contemporary and relaxed shared upstairs space. We will definitely be back again - but maybe not during the Summer months. Can imagine the lounge will be really hot and with no blinds - would be incredibly bright with the sun coming in through the huge windows and velux ceiling lights. However, in February - this was perfect. Thank you for a great experience and stay!

Mr B,

A lovely modern property with outstanding sea views and a convenient walk from Porthleven.

Mrs L,

Wonderful home with a great living space and ample bedrooms. Parking for 2 cars in Porthleven was ideal and the location a short walk from the village was perfect. Would thoroughly recommend Maizy's!

Mr C,

Beautiful house in a great location for local walks and attractions. Very modern furnishings, comfy beds, good WiFi & very well equipped with cooking utensils. Highly recommend!

Mrs L,

Beautiful property with a stunning sea view, we had a lovely relaxing week.

Mrs E,

Gorgeous place, with lovely sea views and comfy furnishings, beds etc. Comfortable for 6 people but only one ensuite so space could be a bit of a squeeze for 8 adults. Great location to walk into Porthleven as well as South West Coast Path. Would go again!

Mrs W,

What a fabulous house! We had the most amazing week here: myself, my two children and my parents. The living area is spectacular - plenty of space for us all. Porthleven is a gorgeous village with restaurants, shops and lovely evening strolls. Lots of wonderful places to visit in the area. Highly recommend both Porthleven and Maizy’s Cottage - we’ve already booked for next summer!

Mrs R,

If you’re pondering then stop and just do it. A beautiful home with stunning views in a perfect location. Loads of open space, as clean as can be, very well equipped and lovely furniture.

Mr S,

Absolutely wonderful place to stay on the beautiful Cornish coast. In the lovely harbour town of Porthleven, but a 10 minute lovely stroll away from the hustle and bustle, this cottage offers tranquillity and beautiful views. The accommodation is of a very high standard, decorated with great eye for detail. The kitchen is very well-equipped. Beautiful walking to be done along the South-West coast path whether you turn left or right. We parked our car on arrival, and didn’t get back in till the end of our week; bliss! Great little supermarket by the harbour, and the Harbour Inn was our favourite watering hole, also offering really good food, served with a smile. We will be back! Thank you.
