Description

You could be forgiven for thinking you’re somewhere else in the world entirely. Rest assured this Cornwall and this dog-friendly beach house is fit for the whole family. Just bring your bucket and spade.

Beachside serenity

Cliff top. Sea views. Sandy beach. We could leave it at that, but we won’t tease you any more. Karrek Beach House is a fabulous spectacle of seaside living and its location is only half of the wow factor. Set over three floors, natural light pours in through large window and French doors to bring as much of the outside glory in. Come hot Cornish summer or wild winter storms, there are few better seats on the coast.

As if the contemporary townhouse has made its way to the seashore, enter your home for the week on the middle floor. The entranceway steers you to the full width sitting room with its glass-wrapped balcony to match reached via full height sliding doors. Who will get there first to appreciate the view? Should you need to hunker inside the sitting room is a spacious and comfortable zone for all six of you to relax and the woodburner does the trick on those chilly winter nights.

Downstairs, greeted by a gorgeous slate floor, you’ll find the kitchen diner where breakfast could last a lifetime if you don’t tear yourself away from the window. The master bedroom and shower room are also here and lead outside to a gorgeous decked area, which puts a whole new spin on breakfast in bed. Will you spot dolphins playing in the waves or birds of prey scoping out the skies? Or will you spot the fishermen heading to Porthleven with their catch of the day and debate what you’ll have for supper this evening?

Bedrooms and bathrooms

This modern beach house brings a relaxed luxury to your stay and a freshness in the bright accents colours used in the bedrooms. The lower ground floor master bedroom has a king size bed and that enviable access to the great outdoors. Up on the top floor there are two en suite bedrooms, one double, one twin, both enjoying spectacular sea views. A travel cot is available upon request.

Reviews

Great cottage, excellent location and really comfortable - Would love to stay again

Mr H,

Location, view and space is stunning but cleanliness was pretty awful and was dealt with very unprofessionally.

Mr A,

Great location with all you need for a great holiday! Good to have parking and the house is very well equipped.

Mrs G,

Great location, with fantastic views. Porthleven is a beautiful harbour village.

mrs A,

The property is fabulous and located right on the coast path with fantastic views

Mrs M,

Lovely property in beautiful seafront position, outstanding view from comfortable kitchen/diner and lounge areas and set over three floors, all with sea views. Great to have private parking area immediately in front, a sought after attribute in this area. Comfortable furnishings, high quality kitchen appliances, just a few minor issues need attention in this premium property, such as loose/faulty internal door handles and shower and bath water temperature adjustment.

Mr F,

We loved staying at this property, nice quiet location with stunning views out over the sea. Short walk into Porthleven. Kitchen recently updated with new worktops, and appliances.

Mrs S,

Property was lovely, just a couple of niggles. Lots of light switches that didn’t seem to turn any lights on. Fridge door a bit rusty patio door from kitchen heavy and not running well. But these are just little jiggles that didn’t spoil a lovely holiday and lovely view

Mrs W,

Excellent house, great location, perfect holiday.

Mr S,

The reasons for our not so perfect evaluation: Dishwasher did not work (that fact could even be read in former reviews pn tripadvisor) / the floor on the porch/terrace was broken and uneven / some chairs on the terrace were wobbly.

Mr M,
