Reviews

Another excellent stay at Pont View for us. Hosted Christmas for family and had the best time. Location doesn't get any better, there are more steps from the living room to the front door than the front door to the bakery! Well appointed apartment, great central location (no hills when walking home from dinner), lovely underfloor heating in the en-suite and a well equipped kitchen to boot. Thank you.

Mrs H,

This is our second visit to Ponte View. Great location, beautiful river view, and a little traffic noise. Close to shops and restaurants. Unfortunately no parking

Previous Customer,

Great location in the centre of town.

Mr B,

Beautiful property in the heart of Fowey, very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The roof terrace is a real plus we used it lots. For unloading we used the short stay car park and parked in the main car park for the week. We took a boat trip to Mevagissey, visited Nation Trust Lynhydrock, walked the coastal path and enjoyed the beach & Carlyon Bay. Lots of nice restaurants and ice cream shops. Would highly recommend and return

Mr W,

Lovely well equipped apartment right in the centre of Fowey. The gulls make using the balcony almost impossible during nesting season. Well placed for restaurants and some beautiful walks.

Mrs C,

Pont View is a clean, upgraded, well equipped and tastefully furnished apartment in the heart of the main shopping and dining street in Fowey. There is a beautiful view across the estuary from the kitchen as well as from the roof deck. Please note, it is rather tricky to access this deck for anyone with mobility issues. On that note, for visitors unfamiliar with Fowey, there is no parking near the property. You must park your car in one of the town's car parks; the main one of which is accessed either by a very steep ten minute walk or via a shuttle service. In terms of visiting Fowey itself, there are a number of cute shops and good restaurants. Our favorite restaurant was Pintxo, a wonderful little tapas place about a ten minute walk. And if you are planning day trips, don't miss Polperro.

Mr R,

We stayed here with friends. The cottage is very well equipped, spotlessly clean and ideally located. It’s a few minutes walk to the harbour, pubs and shops and approximately 10 seconds across the road to one of the best bakers I’ve been to. You must try the Cruffin. Parking is not ideal but where in Cornwall is?. I would not hesitate to return here or recommend it to anyone.

Mr C,

Location

If you haven't yet discovered Fowey, you've got a treat in store. Full of multicoloured cottages, perched on the hillsides leading down to the sea, this little fishing town has lots to tempt visitors.

There is an entrancing collection of unique local shops and boutiques, along with harbourside cafes, pubs which will give you a hearty welcome and a good atmosphere, and restaurants offering tempting local produce. If you want a unique insight into the local species in these waters, you could visit Fowey Aquarium, whose residents include specimens brought in by local fishermen.

If you're a fan of Daphne du Maurier, you may want to visit the Literary Centre, which gives information and exhibits about the author and her life and work. There is also the Fowey Festival of Words and Music, held in May, in which du Maurier, and many other authors, artists and musicians, are celebrated. Another great spectacle is the Fowey Royal Regatta, held in August.

Fowey lies within one of the many Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Cornwall, and the backdrop of the surrounding countryside, with its tidal creeks, rolling fields and rugged cliffs, will make you want to return here again and again.
