Description

Retreat to the countryside. Sit in your own private garden and listen to the birds. Roam free in the private woodlands. Explore Suffolk’s stunning coastline. Light the woodburner and snuggle up.

Elegant retreat

This special place is one to return to, time and again. Exquisitely decorated and furnished to high standards, the owner has worked their magic to give this hotel standard cottage a home-from-home feeling. Subtle hints of the seaside are sprinkled through the cottage in individually picked, calming artworks that adorn the walls. Every room has a gentle atmosphere thanks to the clever use of light and colour. Oak flooring and doors lend a weight of quality to this lovely conversion.

Your kitchen is well equipped to make self-catering a breeze. The space is welcoming, the appliances just perfect. There is plenty of entertainment here, inside and out. You have free access to explore two and a half acres of woodland belonging to the owner. The garden is an enclosed treat, with lawned area and a sundial shaped patio. Just perfect for sitting out on for an al fresco meal. Woven fencing adds to the rustic feel in this countryside retreat.

When the day is done, choose from the collection of films to watch in front of a roaring fire in the gorgeous woodburner. Logs are thoughtfully provided. The charming sitting room is well proportioned and the furnishings just perfectly picked. Feel at ease in luxury here. What could be more appealing than a tranquil holiday in a beautiful mid-Suffolk village? Explore the Suffolk coast, Southwold and Aldeburgh from here. Framlingham’s historic castle is only a seven mile drive away and promises hours of fascination and roaming for all ages. There’s a cinema, shops, pubs and restaurants all close by too.

For larger groups, book two more guest in to adjoining Woodland Lodge.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

You’ll feel the hotel quality with luxury bathrobes and 500 thread count Egyptian cotton linen. Sink into the comfortable beds and sleep soundly. The bathroom is beautifully decorated and equipped with a stunning walk-in double-headed rain shower and sensor mirror.

Reviews

Fabulous cottage - beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, very well-equipped, bright and cosy. Good location with plenty of interesting day trips within reach. The hosts were friendly and helpful.

Mrs K,

Amazing cozy remote lodge - perfect weekend escape.

Miss G,

A beautifully decorated and comfortable lodge in an extremely tranquil spot. If you're looking for peace and quiet, yet fairly close to all the main tourist locations, then this is your spot!

Mr W,

Well worth the money cabin clean and tidy located near loads of places to visit

Mr D,

Beautiful cottage and setting. Owners were really helpful. Would fully recommend this holiday lodge.

Mrs E,

It would be difficult to imrove on the cottage .It was very clean and comfortable and i loved it . Unfortunately , because of a family illness my wife and i had to leave half way through our booked holiday. it was a sudden phone call that informed us and we literally had to dash off. We will return if possible .

Mr P,

Sundial was a lovely property and we felt very comfortable, just like "home from home" Owners were very friendly & welcoming. The woodland walk was a lovely surprise where our son Harry [age 9] loved walking around it on a daily basis [sometimes twice a day] Thank you for making our stay in Suffolk a special one and we will definitely stay in Sundial cottage again if we visit Suffolk in the future!!
