Description

Strikingly refurbished school house offering the perfect country retreat for two. Set in rolling Suffolk landscape, this stylish holiday home has panoramic views. Ideal for relaxing or walking the land together with your dog.

Countryside and those vast skies stretch as far as your eyes can see. Perfect for contemplation à deux while you’re lounging on your patio, snuggled up on your plush sofa or soaking long in your roll-top bath.

Scenic Suffolk

Its profile gives a hint of its previous life, but everything else at the Old School House is about the perfect retreat for two. Take the setting for a start – placed deep in the Suffolk countryside at the heart of miles (and miles) of rolling fields. This rural getaway couldn’t be quieter and more at home with nature.

The position makes the most of the views that stretch gloriously ahead in shades of green and yellow, and upwards across those vast skies famous for their light. You’ll be contemplating the vistas from every angle too. All windows in your holiday haven offer stunning views, ever-changing as the light shifts along the day.

Enjoy them from your outside patio where two armchairs wait side by side for you to sit back and relax. Gaze out from the wonderfully plush settee placed perfectly to get the best views and make the most of the warmth from the woodstove. Nod off and wake up to them from your king-size bed, also placed to benefit fully from the views. And the delight of delights, gaze again at the views as you soak luxuriously in the roll-top bath with a little something in hand and contemplate the dusk and first of the stars.

The two of you have more than enough space in the open-plan interior where high ceilings and masses of natural light make the loveliest of spaces. The rustic kitchen comes fully equipped and even the washing-up stops being a chore because the Belfast sink looks out onto, yes, those views.

Should you manage to leave, great walking lies on your doorstep as you explore the views on foot. Perfect for your furry friend; this unique holiday cottage is pet-friendly too. And then at the end of the day, it’s back to your views.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

The Old School House has one bedroom with a king-size bed and roll-top bath. Panoramic views through the picture windows are heavenly. There’s also a bathroom with a walk-in shower.

Reviews

Beautiful little house, home from home with added luxuries

Mrs F,

A very clean, comfortable and spacious house in a beautiful, peaceful location.

Mr M,

A beautiful cottage, with wonderful views. Very comfortable and peaceful. Would recommend.

Mrs D,

This is a cosy but comfortable and well equipped property. Well located with a number of places of interest within a short distance. The full length windows and doors, especially in the bedroom give's great views across the Suffolk countryside, and the view from the bath provides an added luxury.

Mr K,

Such a lovely cottage. So cosy and comfortable. Everything was there that we needed. Beautiful location. Didn’t want to leave.

Ms L,

From the moment we walked through the door at the Old School House we knew that we had chosen an amazing tranquil peaceful place to stay for my birthday. The attention to detail was great , the bath and bifold doors amazing to watch the world go by and just listen to the birds, I cannot recommend this place enough to switch off and reconnect with loved ones.

Mrs C,

A beautiful setting. Larger inside it looks for the outside Very comfortable bed, gorgeous bath fabulous Views . On the other side, not as clean as it could be lots of random stuff shoved into cupboards , No TV channels except Netflix and iPlayer, which wasn’t good for semifinals of Euros played on ITV.. I would go back for the location and hopefully small Housekeeping issues are rectified..

Mrs M,

Whilst this is in a lovely location with peaceful vista and great wildlife, we found this cottage disappointing and not worth the price charged. The bifold doors were broken and couldn’t be used, the cottage was not very clean and a bit shabby in multiple respects. We were also surprised that the ‘welcome pack’ comprised of a sellotaped up, almost empty pack of coffee. Overall pleasant but not worth the money.

Mrs K,

Beautiful place in a stunning location. Very peaceful and we had a lovely 5 night break. The wood burner helped make it even more cosy. We would highly recommend staying here and hope to come back in the summer.

Mr B,

Epic stay. The view and the accommodation are equally wonderful. We are definitely going back.

Mr W,

Amazing again ❤️

Mr C,

We want to live here! It’s gorgeous! Great pubs to eat in and loads of dog walks from the door, can’t fault it and will be back.

Mrs T,

A wonderful, comfortable secluded getaway in a beautiful location. Cannot recommend highly enough.
