Our first Visit England 5* Gold graded property in Yorkshire is a gem of diamond proportions. Stunning views, bespoke interiors, the works of renowned local artist, Lucy Pittaway, adorning the walls, and an Amazon Echo in every room. You can even watch your choice of TV programme from the bath in the master suite - there's attention to detail from top to bottom, including underfloor heating when the time is right.

An impressive gallery of modern oak and glass, and signature lighting that follows you through the house, greets you as you enter Feathered Nest. Immaculately finished throughout, your downstairs social space is largely open plan. In a bespoke kitchen with granite worktops, top notch appliances and double pantry, keen amateur chefs are in their element and your every need is met. Across to a dining area waiting for the bustle of breakfast and the laughter over supper after a day’s adventures in the Dales. Sink into the sofas afore the wood burning stove or look up to the dark skies from the stylish conservatory. From here, explore the wraparound balcony with its wraparound views that guide you to a beautifully landscaped garden and a babbling hot tub, and bike storage for Tour de Yorkshire fans. The glorious setting of Feathered Nest is heaped with history, royal connections, pretty market towns and some of the nations best race horse trainers, and that’s before you don your walking boots and hit the Dales.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

On the ground floor is a king size en suite bedroom and shower room. Upstairs are two similarly spacious rooms. The master presents a super king size bedroom you’ll struggle to leave of a morning with its views towards Middleham and beyond. The en suite with its standalone bath, more views and that integral TV call for evenings in, maybe mornings too. The third bedroom can be a twin or super king depending on the make up of your group and has use of a wet room with impressive digital shower. If only Alexa could bring you breakfast in bed.

Fabulous cottage, very high spec and the attention to detail means that everything has been thought of from the well equipped kitchen to the toiletries in the bathrooms. Lovely cosy and warm house and although there were a plentiful supply of logs we didn't need them. A gorgeous welcome box awaits you with lovely local products and a homemade delicious cake. We had a lovely warm welcome from Claire who was very helpful and kept us updated about local conditions during the recent wet and snowy weather. The hob was a challenge to use but it turned out to be operator error! The gardens are very nice and well equipped with BBQ and hot tub although we didn't use them because of the weather. A quality property - highly recommended

We spent Christmas in this is a beautiful house it was warm, cosy and very well equipped. When we arrived it was lovely and warm and stayed that way throughout our stay. The house is extremely well equipped. We are cooks and had everything we needed. There was a very generous supply of logs and kindling. With beautiful surroundings and wonderful walks what more could we ask.

Fantastic property - really great location, very clean and the rooms were so spacious and lovely. Easy walk into Leyburn and access to beautiful walks around the area. The waterfalls were right up the hill from the house and it was a wonderful spot. The house was clean and the property owners were really lovely. The welcome basket was a really nice touch and had a few lovely things in there for my young son too, which was so considerate. It was a fantastic place to relax and visit. Thank you!

This really is a wonderful cottage that has everything you could possibly need and I’m sure if there was anything that you needed Clare would be on hand to help you out. The cottage is spotlessly clean and every attention to detail is taken care of including a great selection of goodies and a delicious cake on arrival. The location is great with so much to see and do only a short drive away, there’s also a good selection of places to eat and drink in the area but you may find it difficult to prise yourself away from the great kitchen that the cottage has. We’ve stayed in a few places in the area and Feathered Nest is up there with the best of them.

The Feathered Nest was absolutely beautiful. Decorated and furnished to a superb standard and everything had been thought about to make our stay special. There was a lovely welcome pack and freshly baked muffins waiting for us,even milk in the fridge! We jet Clare wfrn she popped to assist us on how to work the oven and hob and she was lovely and helpful. We would definitely return if visiting this area again .
